Gerat Green Gloves (in progress)
I'm working on a pair of gloves based on Interweave Knits Winter 2003 article on making gloves. They're going to match my coronet hat from Knitty. The yarn is Paco a baby alpaca/cotton blend from ArtFibers.

This is just the cuff. It's the same as the cabled band around the border of coronet, but shorter. It's fairly loose (as you can kind of see in this picture) so then I did a few rows of ribbing above to keep it a bit snugger to my wrist.

Here is the glove so far. I did a thumb gusset (which was super easy) and I've completed one finger. The striping pattern on the finger is Fibonacci sequence (1 1 2 3 5). I'm really pleased with how this looks. My initial plan was to do a fingerless glove with a mitten shell but the yarn wasn't quite cooperating with that idea. Oh well. I can make myself fingerless gloves out of different yarn now. Making these gloves was pretty darn easy, and quick. I started (and finished) the cabled band Tuesday evening, got through the gusset by Thursday evening and now I'm at fingers. whee!
